Biography:

Dr. Debdas Roy is working as Professor at Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (Formerly NIFFT) Ranchi, India.

Dr. Roy received Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India in 2008. Dr. Roy has published more than 63 scientific research papers in peer-reviewed journals and 23 conference proceedings. He has 2 book chapters to his credit and acted as editor for one book and obtained one patent.

Dr. Roy Supervised 7 Doctorate and 24 Master Students. Dr. Roy had been Research Associate from May-2007 to July 2007 at Institute of High Pressure Physics, Warsaw, Poland , Visiting Postdoctoral Fellow- June 2009 to July 2009 at University of Manitoba, Canada and also a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Indo-US Research program) August 2011 to August 2012 at North Carolina State University, USA. He has received several significant awards and professional citation such as the IEI Young Engineers Award-2008 in the field of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering by the Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata (2010), Young Metallurgist of the Year Award instituted by Ministry of Steel, Government of India, Indo-US Research Fellowship (2011). He has also selected associate Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore in 2009.
