Biography:
Dr.
T. Jothi Saravanan is an Assistant Professor at the School of Infrastructure,
Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar (IIT-BBS), Odisha. Previously, he
worked as JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Sciences,
Yokohama National University, Japan. He completed his under graduation in Civil
Engineering from College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University, Chennai, India
in 2012 and obtained his postgraduate degree in Engineering of Structures from
the CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre, Chennai, India under the
Academy of Scientific & Innovative Research in 2014. Later, he obtained a
doctoral degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Tokyo, Japan in
2018 with a Thesis Adjudged Excellent at the Department level. His field of
interest includes Structural Health Monitoring; Computer Vision-based
Monitoring; Machine learning; Smart Materials and Structures; Wave Propagation
Mechanics; Nondestructive Evaluation; Structural Dynamics; Vibration analysis;
Experimental Techniques in Structural Engineering. He has authored more than 11
book chapters, 36 journal papers, 35 conference papers, and 2 technical
reports. He is a recipient of various fellowships/scholarships namely, Quick Recruitment
Scientist (Fellow) by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry
of Science & Technology, India in 2014-15; Monbukagakusho: MEXT Scholarship
by Govt. of Japan in 2015-2018; Visiting Scholar to University of Cambridge, UK
in 2016; JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship, Japan Society for the Promotion of
Science in 2018-20.
