Dr. Lohani has over a decade and half years of experience in renewable energy education, training and research. He has been teaching renewable energy and conducting thesis and projects in UG and Graduate engineering students. Dr. Lohani has actively been involved in the field of biomass and solar energy research and consulting assignments and collaborates with national and international Partners. He has mainly focused on energy, environment and sanitation research by emphasizing his research on waste (water) characterization, anaerobic digestion (waste to bio-energy) research, holistic model of Municipal Solid Waste (water) Management and circularity of natural resources. He has also edited a book, published a book chapter, serves as a program committee member in an international conference, serves as a editorial board member and reviewer for several journals, and has published about 30 journal and conference proceedings.
