Dr. Halil Ibrahim BURGAN

Biography:

Dr. Burgan graduated from Cukurova University as Civil Engineer in 2010. He studied as Research Assistant at Afyon Kocatepe University, Civil Engineering Department, Hydraulics Division between 2010-2013 years and Istanbul Technical University, Civil Engineering Department, Hydraulics Division between 2013-2019 years. He graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering program under Civil Engineering Department. Then, his position is Assistant Professor at Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Istanbul Kultur University during 2019-2020. Study areas are Hydrology, Water Resources, Extreme Events (Flood, Drought and Low flows), Statistical Analysis and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He has 18 papers in indexed journals, 32 conference proceedings, 9 scientific research projects.

Dr. Burgan is working at Akdeniz University, Civil Engineering Department, Antalya, Turkey as Associate Professor. Previously, he worked with together a lot of project teams in the subject of hydrological modeling, extreme events as floods and droughts. One of them which he has worked on “A Scientific Network for Earthquake, Landslide and Flood Hazard Prevention” EU project for flood modeling and flood assessments of implementation areas in Turkey with other partner 5 EU countries as Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine. He can use hydrological and hydraulic models as integrated with QGIS and ArcGIS. He knows very basically R-programming.
