Dr P. Usha Rani is a Professor in RMD Engineering College, Chennai and she has been a faculty member since June 2014. She received her B.E. degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, India, M.E. degree in Power Systems from College of Engineering, Anna University, Chennai, India and Ph.D. in the area of Power Electronics and Drives from Anna University, Chennai, India. She has published over 52 technical papers in International and National journals/Conference proceedings. She has 30 years of experience. Her earlier Industrial experience of 4 years was with Chemin Controls, Pondicherry, India. Her research interests on Application of Power Electronics to Power Quality Problems and FACTS. She is a Senior Member IEEE 92076089, Life member of Indian Society for Technical Education and Association for Computing Machinery. She has visited Singapore to present a paper in IEEE International conference ACEPT 2017. She has organized AICTE sponsored STTP on Power Quality and Anna University sponsored FDP on Power System Analysis and Transmission & Distribution. She is a Reviewer in Taylor & Francis, JPE, MDPI, JEET, International Journal of Electronics, Artificial Intelligence Review, Hindawi, IEEE international conferences. She is a Resource person in AICTE STTPs and Anna University FDPs organized by various Engineering colleges. Continuous learner -Got Silver, Elite Certificates in NPTEL 8 courses. She is a Technical Program Committee Member in ICWACCE 2024, MEAAC 2023, PCCNT 2023. She acted as Chairman of Central Valuation organized by Anna University. She is a Recognized Research Supervisor and guided 3 faculty members. She has received Awards Dr. APJ ABDUL KALAM Award for Scientific Excellence 2017, Dr. APJ ABDUL KALAM Award for Teaching Excellence 2017, Appreciation for fostering an Ecosystem bridging Government Industry and Academics given by DST and Texas Instruments 2018. She has Published 6 Patents.
