Prof. Zhiping Zhou

Biography:
Zhiping (James) Zhou received his Ph.D. (EE) degree from Georgia Institute of Technology (GT),USA, in 1993. He was a Founder and the Vice President of Production at Hengnan Transistor Factory in China (1971-1978) and a guest scientist of NIST in USA (1987-1989). He is a Fellow of SPIE, a senior member of IEEE, a member of OSA, and a life member of PSC. From 1993 to 2005, he was with the Microelectronics Research Center at GT, where he engaged research and development in the areas of semiconductor devices and sensors; photonic devices and sensors; ultra-fast optical communications; integrated optoelectronics; nanotechnology; and vector rigorous diffraction analysis. From 2005 to 2008, he was with HUST as a “Changjiang” special professorship appointed by the Ministry of Education of China. He is now a “Changjiang” Professor at Peking University, Beijing, China. He is also an Adjunct Professor at School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of GT, USA. He has over 180 technical papers and presentations, and holds 9 patents.
