Biography:

Adnan Ahmad Cheema (Senior Member, URSI and Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. degree from the COMSATS University, Pakistan., M.Sc. degree from the King's College London, U.K., and the Ph.D. degree from the Durham University, U.K., in 2006, 2008 and 2015, respectively. From 2015 to 2017, he was a postdoctoral Research Associate (funded by OFCOM, UK) at Durham University and was involved in 5G channel measurements and modelling (sub-6 GHz and 24-90 GHz). In 2017, he joined Ulster University, U.K., as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) and currently is the director of Advanced Wireless Technologies Lab at Ulster. He has a research grant portfolio of over £5 million. He is a regular reviewer of leading journals from publishers like IEEE (AWPL, WCL, TVT etc), IET, Wiley (e.g. Radio Science) and others.  His research interests include wireless communications (6G), channel measurements and modelling, reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS), non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), wireless spectrum (e.g. sensing, dynamic access and RF-EMF), machine learning (classical and Quantum), testbeds and proof of concept system development (e.g. 5G in a box and channel sounder).
