Biography:

Dr. Serbay Duran was born in 1983 in Malatya, Turkey. He completed his early education in Malatya before pursuing higher studies in mathematics. Dr. Duran received his bachelor's degree in Mathematics from İnönü University's Faculty of Science and Arts in 2004, demonstrating a deep commitment to his field from an early age. In 2006, he advanced his studies by obtaining a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Fırat University's Institute of Science, where he began his journey into complex mathematical theories and their applications. Dr. Duran continued at Fırat University to earn his PhD in Applied Mathematics in 2012, focusing his research on the interactions between mathematical principles and real-world problems. Recognized for his academic prowess, Dr. Duran was awarded the title of Associate Professor in Applied Mathematics by the Inter-University Council in 2022. This accolade was a testament to his substantial contributions to the field, particularly in pioneering research and academic leadership. Currently, Dr. Duran serves as a faculty member at Adıyaman University's Faculty of Education. Here, he continues to influence the academic community through his teaching and extensive research. His work primarily revolves around artificial intelligence models, soliton theory, and mathematical physics, areas in which he has published numerous influential papers. Dr. Duran’s research in artificial intelligence (AI) explores the development of models that can simulate and predict complex behaviors in various systems. His work aims to bridge the gap between theoretical mathematics and practical applications in AI, enhancing the capability of algorithms to solve problems in novel and efficient ways. In the realm of soliton theory, Dr. Duran has contributed to understanding how solitary waves interact and propagate through different media. This research not only has implications for physics but also for engineering and other applied sciences, where soliton behaviors can be replicated in communications and other technologies. His contributions to mathematical physics involve applying mathematical methods to formulate and solve physical problems. By integrating the principles of quantum mechanics and classical physics with advanced mathematics, he has helped to advance knowledge in areas such as particle physics. Dr. Duran's exemplary service to the academic community has also been recognized by IOP Publishing, which awarded him the IOP Trusted Reviewer Award and the Outstanding Reviewer Award in 2023. Additionally, since 2022, he has been serving as the area editor for mathematical physics at the Adıyaman University Journal of Science, furthering his impact on the field through scholarly communication. Dr. Duran is actively involved in academic committees and editorial boards, contributing his expertise to guide emerging research and support the development of young mathematicians. He remains dedicated to his teaching duties, mentoring students and guiding them through complex mathematical landscapes, preparing the next generation of scientists and mathematicians. Dr. Serbay Duran's career is marked by a steadfast dedication to expanding the boundaries of applied mathematics.
