Biography:
Andrey V. Brazhnikov (M'98) was born in Kostroma, Russia, on October 28, 1959 and is presently an associate professor of the Department of Mining Machines and Complexes of the Siberian Federal University (Krasnoyarsk, Russia) and a professor of the Russian Academy of Natural History. He had his graduation in Electrical Engineering from the Krasnoyarsk Polytechnical Institute (Krasnoyarsk, Russia) in 1982 (major in Automatics and Telemechanics, Honors Degree, cum laude). He received Ph.D. degree in Electromechanics from the Tomsk Polytechnical Institute (Tomsk, Russia) in 1985. He was the chief of the scientific-research laboratory of automatic control systems of the Scientific-Research and Design Institute on Problems of Development of Kansk-Achinsk Coal Basin (Krasnoyarsk, Russia) and the chief of two international (Russian-Bulgarian) scientific projects in the field of multiphase inverter-fed AC electric drives (1991–92 and 1993–95). He has more than 140 published scientific works and inventions.
