Dr. Amir Ganjidoust
Tehran University, Iran
Biography:
Amir Ganjidoust received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (Solid Mechanics) from Sharif University of Technology, the highest-ranked technical university in Iran, and his M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from K. N. Toosi University of Technology. He ranked first among all Mechanical Engineering graduate students during his first year and third overall upon completing his M.Sc. program in 2008. The demanding coursework, combined with teaching and research responsibilities, further strengthened his dedication to academic excellence and lifelong learning.
During his graduate studies at KNTU, he had the opportunity to work with outstanding professors who inspired intellectual curiosity and scientific rigor. Their mentorship encouraged him to explore his abilities and deepen his technical expertise in design and analysis. In 2014, he was awarded a full Ph.D. scholarship in System Design Engineering (Nanotechnology) at the University of Waterloo, Canada. However, due to his growing professional responsibilities as a project manager, he decided to continue his leadership role in industry while maintaining a strong connection to academic research.
Currently, Amir is pursuing a Ph.D. in Management at the University of Tehran, one of the most prestigious universities in Iran and the Middle East. Transitioning from a background in mechanical engineering to management—specifically in industrial and technological management—he now
serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a leading energy holding company. In this capacity, he oversees a broad portfolio of energy projects, including thermal power plants (gas turbine, steam turbine, and combined-cycle systems) as well as renewable energy developments such as hydropower, solar, and wind energy plants. He is deeply engaged in the development and expansion of solar energy projects in Iran and actively explores emerging technologies to accelerate the nation’s transition toward sustainable and renewable energy solutions.
