Biography:
Wan Azman is a Professor of Economics at the School of Business and Economics, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, and specializes in international finance and financial economics. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Economics and Management and sits on the editorial boards of several academic journals. He has published more than 100 articles in reputable scholarly outlets, including Borsa Istanbul Review, Economics of Governance, Economics Letters, Economic Modelling, Emerging Markets Review, Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, Finance Research Letters, Journal of Banking and Finance, Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, Research in International Business and Finance, South African Journal of Economics, and The World Economy, among others. Wan Azman has also made significant contributions to national policy research. Various Malaysian ministries and government agencies have appointed him to conduct studies on innovation, including serving as a Subject Matter Expert for the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology in developing the National Innovation Index. Additionally, he has served as a consultant to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, where he led the National Innovation Survey and a baseline study for the National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy.
