Biography:

Dr. Mehdi Abedi-Varaki is a Senior Researcher at the Center for Physical Sciences and Technology (FTMC), Vilnius, Lithuania, working in the Department of Laser Technologies. His research interests focus on laser–plasma interaction, laser wakefield acceleration (LWFA), ultrafast laser physics, terahertz photonics, plasma reactors and advanced computational modeling using particle-in-cell (PIC) simulations. He has extensive experience with simulation frameworks such as FBPIC and Wake-T for studying high-intensity laser-driven plasma dynamics and particle acceleration. Dr. Abedi-Varaki has authored numerous scientific publications and book in the fields of plasma physics, photonics, laser-based accelerator technologies and reactor engineering. His recent research also includes machine learning-assisted optimization in laser-plasma accelerators and plasmonic terahertz devices. In addition to his research activities, he actively contributes to the scientific community through editorial and conference-related collaborations in photonics and applied physics.
