
Dr. Waseem Hayat

Biography:
Dr. Waseem Hayat is Associate Research Fellow (Teaching and Research) in Professor Guohua Jing’s research group at School of Chemical Engineering, Huaqiao University (Xiamen Campus), Xiamen China. Prior to join Huaqiao University, Dr. Hayat has completed postdoctoral fellowship from School of Environment and Energy, South China University of Technology (University Town Campus), Guangzhou China under the mentorship of Professor Ze-hua Liu. Dr. Hayat has completed MS in Environmental Science from COMSATS University Islamabad (Abbottabad Campus), Abbottabad Pakistan in 2014 under the mentorship of Associate Professor Rashid Nazir and Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering from South China University of Technology in 2020 under the mentorship of Professor Yongqing Zhang in Professor Shaobin Huang’s research group. Dr. Hayat has expertise in research fields of Human-Environment Interaction, Plants-Microbes Interaction and Chemical Degradation of Pollutants. In past 7 years, his research is mainly devoted to the analysis of development and the efficiency of activated persulfate oxidation processes to degrade the pollutants in water. Dr. Hayat has been the principal author of 14 research articles and co-author of 18 research articles in reputed international journals so far as well as he has 5 proceedings in national and international academic conferences on his behalf. He has also participated in few research projects as a member. Currently, Dr. Hayat is also co-supervising the academic research of 1 Masters’ student and teaching “Water Pollution Control Engineering” at graduate level.
