
Associate Professor Amirrudin Kamsin

Biography:
Dr. Amirrudin Kamsin is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Systems and Technology at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Universiti Malaya (UM), Malaysia. He is currently serving as the Head of Department, leading academic and research initiatives within his field.
Dr. Kamsin has a distinguished track record in higher education leadership, having held significant roles such as Acting Director of the Universiti Malaya Centre for Continuing Education (UMCCed) from 2019 to 2022. He also served as the Acting Director of the Universiti Malaya Professional Development and Leadership Centre (UM-LEAD) from 2022 to 2023 and as Deputy Director for Online and Distance Learning (ODL) at UMCCed from 2017 to 2022. These leadership roles reflect his commitment to advancing both academic development and continuing education at UM.
Dr. Kamsin's academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (Management) from Universiti Malaya (2001), a Master’s in Computer Animation from Bournemouth University, UK (2002), and a PhD in Computer Science from University College London (UCL) in 2014.
His research interests are wide-ranging and innovative, focusing on areas such as human-computer interaction (HCI), authentication systems, e-learning, mobile applications, serious games, augmented reality, and mobile health services. Through his work, Dr. Kamsin has made significant contributions to the intersection of technology and human behavior, advancing both theoretical understanding and practical applications in these fields.
