Dr. SELVAM AVADAYAPPAN is a well-known graph theorist in south India. He is at present working as Associate Professor and Head at the Department of Mathematics, VHN Senthikumara Nadar College, Virudhunagar, Tamilnadu, India, since the year 2000. Previously,  he was working as a Lecture at the Department of Mathematics, Dr. Sivanthi Adithanar College of Engineering, Tiruchendur, Tamilnadu, India, for four years during 1995 – 1999 and Kamaraj College of Engineering and Technology, Virudhunagar, Tamilnadu, India, for one year during 1999 – 2000. Dr. Selvam Avadayappan has received his Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, from Annamalai University, Tamilnadu, India in 1997. He was awarded the degree, Master of  Philosophy in the year 1991, master degree in 1990 and bachelor degree in 1988 from ANJA College, Sivakasi, Tamilnadu, India. He is an approved research guide in Mathematics by Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, India.

Dr. SELVAM AVADAYAPPAN has 30 years of teaching experience and 34 years of research experience in Mathematics. His area of interest is Graph Theory as well as Number Theory. He has published more than 150 research articles in various national / international journals. He has guided for more than 100 M.Phil. scholars. Under his guidance 8 scholars have received their Ph.D. degrees. Among them, 7 were in graph theory and the remaining one was in Functional analysis. In addition one scholar has submitted her Ph.D. thesis and awaiting for the report. At present three Ph.D. scholars are pursuing their research work under his guidance in graph theory.
