Biography:
Dr. Yan Zhang earned her Ph.D. in Linguistics from Beijing Language and Culture University. From 2022 to 2023, funded by the China Scholarship Council of the Ministry of Education, she served as a visiting scholar at the College of Teacher Education, University of Northern Colorado in the United States.
Her research interests cover phonetics and language learning. In the realm of phonetics, she conducts meticulous investigations into Mandarin Chinese, such as analyzing its unique intonation patterns and pronunciation rules. Meanwhile, her focus on the impact of blended learning environments on college students’ language acquisition is truly remarkable. She examines how the integration of online and offline learning resources affects students' language skills development, offering evidence - based strategies for enhancing language teaching.
Dr. Zhang is highly productive, having published one book and over 10 refereed journal articles. Her work has earned her multiple awards, reflecting its high quality. Moreover, she actively participates in academic governance, serving on the editorial board of the Journal of Translating China and as a peer reviewer for multiple journals, thus contributing to the advancement of academic research.
