Title: On geometry of modulated topological vector (MTV) spaces and applications
Abstract:
We introduce a notion of modulated topological vector spaces, that generalizes, among others, Banach and modular
function spaces. As an example of application, we prove some results, which extend Kirk’s and Browder’s fixed point theorems. The
theory of modulated topological vector spaces provides a very minimalistic framework, where powerful fixed point theorems are valid
under a bare minimum of assumptions.
Biography:
Dr Walter Kozlowski – publishing also as Wojciech M. Kozlowski - has been actively involved in research activities in mathematics and applications since the 1980s with a particular interest in functional analysis, fixed point theory and applications. A Fulbright scholar, an author of a monographic book “Modular Function Spaces” and of numerous scientific papers, he has held several academic posts at the universities around the world, currently as a Professor at the School of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of New South Wales in Sydney and a research collaborator of CARMA (Research Centre for Computer-Assisted Research Mathematics and its Applications) at the University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia. In parallel, Walter has been pursuing a professional career in Information and Communication Technology with over 20 years of increasingly responsible experience within leading global organizations, as well as leading large-scale transformation projects for clients in the telecom and media industries worldwide. Currently, he is the Head of Architecture at Telstra Network Function Virtualisation Infrastructure, leading the cutting edge technology transformation of Telstra’s network into a virtualized, software-controlled, data centre implemented telco cloud infrastructure. Previously, he occupied a position of the principal of the global telecommunication solution practice at Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
