Biography:
Professor Yulin Li is an Associate Professor at Engineering Research Center for Biomedical
Materials of Ministry of Education, East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST),
Shanghai, China. In 2009, he was appointed as a Research Assistant Professor at University of
Madeira, Portugal. In 2014, he joined ECUST, where he together Prof. Changsheng Liu and Prof.
Yin Xiao (QUT) brought up the new concept of “materiobiology”, aiming at optimizing the
biological effects of biomaterials on biological functions at cell, tissue, organ, and the whole
organism levels. His research interests are involved in the development of biodegradable materials
for biomedical applications, especially for bone regeneration and oncology. Prof. Li’s work is
involved in the exploration of bioactive materials for bone regeneration and drug delivery, especially
focusing the clinical translation of regenerative medicine. He is also pioneered in the development
of biodegradable and injectable hydrogels (nanogels) for biomedical applications. He has published
1 edited book, and more than 70 journal papers, including Chem. Rev. (2017, 2015), Chem. Soc. Rev.
(2012), Nanoscale, ACS Appl. Mater. Inter, J. Control. Release, Biomacromolecules, Acta
Biomaterialia, J. Mater. Chem. B.. In the past five years, Prof. Li’s citation index (h-index: 18) has
risen significantly with more than 1700 citations.
