 Name and Affiliation: Prof. D S Hooda (Former PVC Kurukshetra Univeristy) Honorary Professor in mathematics at GJU of Science & Technology, Hisar (India).

Field of Specialization: Information Theory and its Applications

 Research Interest: Information measures, source coding, and entropy optimization principles and

their applications in statistics and finance mathematics, survival analysis, pattern recognition, Various types of fuzzy sets and fuzzy information measures.

Publications: Guided 13 PhDws and one PDF; published 135 research papers in various ytechnology, 32 popular articles on development of science and mathematics education in schools, colleges and universities; Published 11 books in Mathematics and Statistics and one book titled “Aryabhata: His Life and Contributions”.

Awards:  American Biographical Institute, USA, conferred with honorary appointment to Research Board of Advisors of the Institute in 2004; Indian Society of Information Theory bestowed with a prestigious award in 2005 for outstanding contribution to research in information theory; Awarded with International Plato award in 2010; Bestowed with Distinguished Service Award by VPI in 2011 and Life Time Achievement Award by Venus International Foundation at Chennai in 2015.  Best Research Paper Award in 2017 by the World Academy Championship. Friendship Forum bestowed him with Bharat Excellence and Leading Educationist of India Awards on Sept.25, 2018. Life Time Achievement Award at International Conference held in MD University, Rohtak in 2018. Global Economic Research Association conferred DR. ABDULA KALAM GOLD MEDAL AWARD on 20^th July, 2019 in Banglore. Rashtriya Shiksha Ratan Award’ was bestowed in 43^rd International Conference organized by Indian Institute of Oriental Heritage, Kolkata from Febreuary 7-9, 2020. Best Researcher Award by Institute of Technical and Research, Jaipur on 13^th September, 2020. Bestowed with “Outstanding Scientist Award” in the international Scientist Awards on Engineering, Science and Medicine held on 12^th Nov., 2021, Chennai, India. Life Achievement Award by INSO scientific organization on 14^th May, 2022.  Bestowed with Life Achievement Award in JERSC, Univesity, Jaipur held from August 4to6,2022  and VPI Golden Jubilee award bestowed at 6^th International Conference held in JNU, N. Delhi. from June 16 to18, 2022

Various Assignments: Member of Governing council of Higher Education, Bhopal,(MP) as distinguished academician. Worked as UGC representative on BOM of Government College of Engineering, Karad (Maharashtra) and presently, honorary member of Board of Governors of Rajasthan Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jaipur. AICTE nominee on BOG of Government Engineering Colloege, Bharatpur, Rajasthan.

Distinguished Academic Activities: General Secretary of Indian Society of Information Theory and Applications. Vice Presidents of Forum of Interdisciplinary Mathematics and GAMS for many years; Sectional President of Indian Science Congress Association of Mathematical Sciences in the year 2013-14. Presently, Senior Vice President of ISITA and President of Vijanana Parishad of India. Member of Editorial Advisor Boards of many Internal and National Journals.

Past and Present Positions: An eminent mathematician and able administrator at par excellence. Worked as member of various expert committees of UGC for evaluation of the proposals to organize seminars/conferences/workshop and special assistance program. Served as Lecturer to Prof. and Head in HAU,Hisar and CRM Jat PG college as principal for two years’ Worked as Pro-Vice .Chancellor of Kurukshetra University for a short period and served JUET, Guna as Dean(R) and HOD, mathematics for 12 years after superannuation. 

Presently, Honorary Professor in mathematics at GJ University of Science & Technology, Hisar and Research Advisor to ABV Hindi University, Bhopal, MP(India). He is engaged in doing research in information theory, fuzzy sets and logic and their applications in engineering, management and physical sciences. He was invited to participate 62^nd ISI World Congress held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 18-23 August, 2019 and World Bank pro019 and tas provided withvided him funds to  meet all expenses.
