Title: Exploration of vibration and noise reduction applications in equipment based on metamaterials
Abstract:
In this report, we intend to introduce the research progress of our team in the application of vibration reduction and noise reduction in equipment based on metamaterials. Including five aspects, those are sound absorption, ventilation / flow noise reduction, vibration absorption and isolation. For sound absorption, the introduction of artificial acoustic soft boundaries has effectively enhanced the low broadband sound absorption amplitude of air and water sounds. Through multi-scale design, amplitude enhancement and significant expansion of the working frequency band have been achieved. Through space-shift design, the thickness of broadband sound absorption structures has been significantly reduced, and on-demand reverse customization design has been realized. For ventilation / flow noise reduction, ultra-thin sound-absorbing metamaterial are applied to the inner lining of pipe walls and ventilation grilles, achieving broadband noise reduction of air and water sounds, and efficient noise reduction under tangential flow. For vibration absorption, a broadband continuous adjustable design method and multi-scale design method for pure metal lightweight low-frequency vibration absorbing metamaterials have been proposed, revealing the energy dissipation mechanism of "leveraging force to exert force", and developing intelligent and rapid design software for vibration absorbing metamaterials. For vibration isolation, the "absorption instead of isolation" method is used to achieve an integrated design of load-bearing and isolation. Through the "high static and low dynamic" lightweight quasi-zero stiffness isolation design, multi-level high load-bearing and low broadband isolation is achieved, revealing the "force enhanced" isolation mechanism.
