Biography:

Denis Viktorovich Sandanov was born in 1978 in Bayangol, Barguzin District, Republic of Buryatia, Russia. He was awarded a prize in the Republican Olympiad in English among schoolchildren in 1993. He graduated with a Silver Medal from Bayangol Secondary School in 1994 and received his degree in Biology from Buryat State University in 1999. During his studies, he began conducting scientific research at the Institute of General and Experimental Biology (IGEB) of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS). He participated in numerous conferences and seminars, earning recognition for his contributions. In 2003, he completed his PhD dissertation on the "Ecological and Biological Features of Yellow Sophora in Eastern Transbaikalia" at the Central Botanical Garden, SB RAS.
Currently, Sandanov is a Senior Researcher in the Laboratory of Floristics and Geobotany at IGEB SB RAS and a Researcher at the Tunka National Park. His research expertise lies in population biology, plant community ecology, and plant geography. He has authored over 150 scientific publications and has significantly contributed to understanding ecological dynamics and biodiversity in Siberia and surrounding regions.
