Title: Optimising Microwave Heating for Carbon/Epoxy Prepreg Curing Using AI-Driven Control Systems: A Review
Abstract:
This review explores the integration of AI-driven control systems with microwave heating to optimize the curing process of carbon/epoxy prepregs. By addressing the challenges of traditional autoclave methods, such as energy inefficiency and uneven heating, microwave curing enhanced by AI offers a promising alternative. This paper synthesizes recent advancements, evaluates methodologies, and discusses future directions for scalable, efficient composite manufacturing.
Biography:
Dr. Elias Randjbaran is a distinguished materials engineer and expert in composite materials, holding a PhD and Master's degree in Materials Engineering from the aerospace department at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). His research focuses on advanced materials, structural analysis, and manufacturing, particularly in defence, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing applications. Dr. Randjbaran's expertise encompasses progressive damage analysis of composite structures, buckling and post-buckling analysis of nanocomposites, and structural crashworthiness and ballistic impact analysis. He is an active member of professional societies, has published over 30 articles in reputable journals with nearly 500 citations, and actively participates in conferences as an organizer, keynote speaker, and moderator. His work is pertinent to emerging technologies such as advanced functional materials, advanced manufacturing, and digital design and AI. Dr. Randjbaran is a pivotal figure in advancing composite materials engineering, fostering innovation in defence, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing. Currently serving as a training manager, he is dedicated to sustainable technologies.
