Title: Multi Criteria Decision Making Techniques: A Tool to Medical Diagnosis of Diseases

Abstract:

A decision making support system has been discussed that provides hand held support to the doctors for the medical diagnosis of various common diseases. In this talk, a case study of vector borne diseases has been presented. With the assistance of the experts, information about the state and the type of vector borne disease of four patients has been collected from Delhi, India  based health care center with the help of three medical experts. VIKOR, a MCDM technique has been used to rank the diseases among the patients according to the infomation. It seems that the conclusive outcomes of the investigation are same as diagnosed by specialists. This medical support system can be utilized for decision making of other region based common dieases in the initial state.

Biography:

Prof. Vijay Kumar currently working as Professor at the department of Applied Sciences, School of Engineering & Technology, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research & Studies, Faridabad, Haryana INDIA. Prior to this, he worked as Professor & Head of the Department at the same institution. His doctorate in Statistics was awarded by Maharishi Dayanand University (State Government University), Rohtak, Haryana, India. He graduated with a B.Sc. from University of Jammu, Jammu, India, and an M.Sc.(Mathematics) from H. N. B. Garhwal University(Central University), Srinagar, Uttaranchali. Dr. Kumar holds life membership in Indian Society of Information Theory and Applications(ISITA), and Quality Circle Forum of India. His research interests include: Fuzzy Information Theory, Generalized Fuzzy sets, Decision Sciences, and Fuzzy information theoretic measures. 
He has successfully supervised the research work of 5 Ph.D scholars  and published more than 70 research articles research articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, and books. Dr. Kumar was invited as resource person in various conferences, FDPs and workshops.  
The governments of Haryana gave funding to organize conference, workshop and expert lecture in totaling about Rs. 3 lakhs.
