Title: The Rise of Conversational AI: A Comparative Analysis of Chatbot Technologies and Development Frameworks
Abstract:
The advent of chatbots has revolutionized human-computer interaction, marking a transformative era in automation and personalized user experiences. Modern chatbots, powered by advancements in natural language processing and machine learning, have evolved from simple scripted tools to sophisticated systems capable of mimicking human conversation. This conference paper explores the current landscape of chatbot technologies, comparing rule-based, retrieval-based, and generative models. Rule-based chatbots excel in structured environments but lack adaptability, while generative models offer dynamic responses but require significant computational resources. Challenges in chatbot development, including ethical concerns, data privacy, and user trust, are also discussed. As conversational AI continues to advance, striking a balance between innovation and ethical responsibility will be critical. This analysis underscores the need for context-aware, user-centric designs to harness chatbots’ full potential across industries like healthcare, education, and customer service.
