Title: The new challenges of education in the era of digital culture: screen time and artificial intelligence
Abstract:
Children and young people are daily challenged by digital technologies
that attract and steal their attention. They spend many hours a day on
endless scrolling through social media and online games. This scenario,
in which children and young people are sedated by screens, without
developing their abilities to connect with space and the people around
them, poses a significant challenge for parents and schools. Recently,
with the availability of artificial intelligence-based systems like
ChatGPT, new challenges are presented to teachers. After all, what skills
should families and schools foster in children and young people? This
will be the guiding question of the lecture.
