Title: Advancements in Clinical Diagnosis of Haematozoan Diseases in Animals: A Molecular Perspective

Abstract:

Haematozoan diseases pose significant threats to animal and human health, necessitating effective diagnostic strategies. This presentation will explore recent advancements in the clinical diagnosis of these parasitic infections in animals, focusing on molecular techniques that enhance accuracy and speed. Traditional diagnostic methods, while foundational, often lack the sensitivity and specificity required for early detection and effective management.
I will discuss the integration of polymerase chain reaction, next-generation sequencing, and loop-mediated isothermal amplification in identifying common parasites, including haemoparasites (Trypanosoma, Theileria, Babesia), Rickettsai (Anaplssma/Ehrlichia) and Toxoplasma. These molecular tools not only improve diagnostic precision but also enable the tracking of infection patterns and resistance mechanisms.
Additionally, I will highlight case studies demonstrating successful implementation of these techniques in clinical settings, showcasing their potential to revolutionize veterinary parasitology. By emphasizing the importance of rapid and accurate diagnosis, this work aims to contribute to better disease management and control strategies, ultimately improving animal welfare and agricultural sustainability.
Join us as we delve into the future of parasitic disease diagnosis, where molecular medicine intersects with veterinary science for the benefit of animals and humans alike.
