Biography:
Dr. Haval Kukha Hawez is an Associate Professor
of Reservoir Engineering and Head of the Chemical Engineering Department at
Koya University, Iraq. His research focuses on reservoir engineering,
subsurface geomechanics, multiphase flow in fractured media, and CO₂
sequestration and enhanced oil recovery (EOR). He also holds an MSc in
Reservoir Evaluation and Management from Heriot-Watt University and a BSc in
Petroleum Engineering from Koya University. He has a PhD in Petroleum Reservoir
Engineering from Robert Gordon University, where his doctoral work concentrated
on coupled geomechanical and multiphase flow modelling in naturally fractured
reservoirs. Dr. Hawez has published extensively in international journals and
conferences, with contributions on CO₂ sequestration, fractured reservoir
modelling, hydrogen storage, geomechanics, and computational fluid dynamics
applications in porous media. He is also the author of a book on CO₂ injection
modelling in gas condensate reservoirs. Beyond his research, he plays an active
role in the scientific community as a reviewer for leading journals, including
Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Journal of Rock Mechanics and
Geotechnical Engineering, and Environmental Earth Sciences.
