Prof.  Hong  Hou

Title: Dynamic parameters and acoustic properties of viscoelastic materials

Abstract:

In deep-sea environments, the acoustic absorption and insulation performance of sound-absorbing coatings deteriorates sharply with increasing depth, severely impacting acoustic stealth capabilities. This report addresses several key issues in the dynamic mechanical parameter testing, modeling, and their effects on acoustic performance, as well as testing and evaluation. It analyzes the current research levels in this field both domestically and internationally and proposes potential solutions to these critical challenges. The main content includes: (1) from mechanical parameter input to acoustic performance assessment; (2) dynamic mechanical parameter acquisition; (3) high-static-pressure low-frequency acoustic performance testing.

Biography:

Hou Hong, Acoustic professor at Northwestern Polytechnical University. He has long been engaged in research on material acoustic performance analysis and testing technology. He has led over ten national-level projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, the Ministry of Science and Technology's Key R&D Program. With more than 100 published papers and 10 authorized patents, he was awarded the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress by China Shipbuilding Group in 2025 (ranked 2nd), the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Shaanxi Provincial Universities in 2021 (ranked 1st), and the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress by China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation in 2015 (ranked 3rd).
