Title: Modeling and Application of Multistatic Acoustic Scattering Characteristics for Complex Underwater Targets

Abstract:

The study of multistatic acoustic scattering characteristics of complex underwater targets is essential for enhancing detection performance, improving robustness against interference, and supporting stealth-oriented design. This report first presents a mid-to-high frequency prediction methodology for bistatic acoustic scattering based on the curved panel element method, along with a scattering prediction approach that leverages highlight-based models and genetic algorithms. The spatial and frequency-domain characteristics of typical targets' multistatic scattering responses are analyzed. Next, drawing inspiration from the wave superposition principle, a transformation technique is developed to extrapolate multistatic scattering characteristics of complex targets from limited experimental or simulation data. The accuracy and applicability of this method are validated using model-scale lake test data. Subsequently, by integrating ray theory with the panel element algorithm, the study investigates the multistatic scattering behavior of targets in shallow water environments. Finally, the report concludes with a discussion on future research directions in the field of multistatic acoustic scattering for complex underwater targets.
