Title: Analysis for the energy harvesting of an ABH laminated beam with piezoelectric patches
Abstract:
This study develops an isogeometric model for vibration energy harvesting by coupling ABH laminated beams with piezoelectric (PZT) patches. Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS) are leveraged to accurately capture the intricate geometry of the ABH beam and PZT patches. The ABH beam's thickness-tapered profile enhances vibration suppression and energy localization, and integrated piezoelectric patches efficiently convert mechanical vibrations into electrical energy. The model fully incorporates electromechanical coupling, enabling a comprehensive analysis of energy harvesting performance. Results demonstrate that the ABH-PZT configuration offers design flexibility and significantly improves energy conversion efficiency. This work provides key insights for optimizing advanced laminated structures in energy harvesting applications.
