Abstract:
The global transition to sustainable energy necessitates innovative solutions beyond traditional fossil fuels. This presentation introduces a new conceptual framework for biofuel supply chains, specifically designed to meet the complexities of modern energy demand. We will explore how integrated systems, from sustainable feedstock sourcing and efficient conversion processes to optimized logistics and distribution, can create a more resilient, responsive, and economically viable bioenergy sector. By rethinking the fundamental architecture of these supply chains, this concept aims to enhance energy security and accelerate the adoption of biofuels as a cornerstone of the renewable energy landscape.
Biography:
Dr. Alireza Goli (born on 29 September 1989) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Future Studies at the University of Isfahan. His research focuses on computational intelligence, meta-heuristic algorithms, and the optimization of sustainable supply chains, logistics, and renewable energy systems under uncertainty. He has authored more than 100 scientific publications and has been consistently recognized among the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Elsevier–Stanford University. With over 4,900 citations and an h-index of 42, Dr. Goli is ranked among the leading Iranian researchers in Management Science, Operations Research, and Decision Sciences. In addition to his research, he serves as an editorial board member and guest editor for several high-impact journals, including Annals of Operations Research, International Journal of Tourism Research, Engineering Reports, and PLOS ONE. His research bridges theory and practice, developing innovative decision-making models that enhance efficiency, resilience, and sustainability in industrial systems.
