Title: Towards Deterministic Real‑Time Cognition: TREX Latency‑Optimized AI Compute for Edge and Space‑Borne Mission Systems
Abstract:
The deep penetration of artificial intelligence into edge and space‑borne scenarios raises non‑negotiable requirements for deterministic inference, hardware‑grade functional safety and constrained power envelope for autonomous driving, industrial control, telemedicine and low‑orbit satellite missions. Legacy GPU, NPU and FPGA hardware cannot resolve the fundamental trade‑offs among latency, reliability and energy efficiency for safety‑bound mission workloads. This keynote presents TREX, a heterogeneous‑integrated AI processor that dismantles classic Von‑Neumann memory‑wall constraints. Its four synergistic subsystems — real‑time control, mixed‑precision compute, safety‑fault‑tolerance and adaptive compilation — leverage CIM‑fusion systolic arrays, multi‑level hardware redundancy and JIT compilation to deliver drastic improvements in end‑to‑end inference latency and fault resilience. Benchmark results verify its leading performance for time‑critical AI inference. We further elaborate its space‑qualified deployment supporting on‑orbit target detection, situational awareness and autonomous collision avoidance under extreme space environments. Closing discussions cover future technical trajectories including adaptive precision tuning, reinforcement‑learning‑based resource scheduling and advanced semiconductor process migration for next‑generation intelligent signal processing systems.
