Title: Exploring spectroscopic signatures of aqueous electrolyte solutions using Terahertz (THz) Spectroscopy
Abstract:
The fundamentals of solvation mechanism of various aqueous transition metals and rare-earth halides is a major focal point of scientific debates among various researchers. In continuation to our previous studies of aqueous electrolytes, here the zinc halide ions are investigated using Terahertz (THz) spectroscopy. In the analytical side, measured data are comprehended with theoretical solvation modelling. Using these methods, low frequency vibrational modes connected to distinct ion-complexations are observed. These scientific yields unambiguously indicate that Terahertz spectroscopic technique gives valuable insights about the ion-solvation dynamics as well as it has strong ability to identify ion-complexation in the liquid phase.
